The U.S. Department of the Navy issued a Justification & Approval designating the Airvrix FOD Barrier under "unusual and compelling urgency" - a classification reserved for capabilities that cannot be delayed without risk to mission and life.
These results come from an external, independent test program run by the U.S. Department of Defense through the F-35 Joint Program Office. The evaluation was conducted on operational F-35 aircraft over months of real-world flight operations - not by Airvrix.
"Success ultimately is a function of reducing and minimizing debris on airfields, directly correlating to manpower and equipment savings, as well as reduction in engine removals. With over a 90% reduction in FOD, we can say with confidence that this test was successful. The FOD Barrier effectively reduced total FOD by 90% and recurring FOD by 98%."
- Official F-35 JPO Test Report, U.S. Department of DefenseDeployed on active military airbases under real operational conditions - not just test ranges.
Engineered to withstand the extreme thrust environments of F-35s, F-16s, and next-gen combat aircraft.
Folds flat instantly for vehicle and aircraft crossings - no manual intervention required during rapid ops.
Operates reliably in desert heat, arctic cold, rain, and snow - with built-in drainage.
Meets aviation safety standards across NATO, U.S. DoD, and allied force specifications.
Operational on military airbases across multiple continents and theaters of operation.
A single piece of debris can take a $100M combat aircraft out of service - or worse, end a pilot's life.
